My education and experiences
I have always had a furry companion by my side. My journey began in Berlin, working in tourism, where my passion for nature and animals inspired me to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biology in Vienna, Austria. During my studies I became involved in research on dogs and wolves. An unexpected turn in my life led me to the Wolf Science Center in Austria, where I raised, trained, and lived with dogs and wolves. Here, we studied dog and wolf behavior, cognition, and cooperation. During my time in Austria, I also completed a dog trainer education program, “Holistic Dog Behavior Trainer,” at the Dog Therapy school “Tiere helfen Leben.” At the same time, I resocialized rescue dogs and worked with family dogs at “Simply Dog”.
After a few years, I joined the “Dog Wolf Project” at Stockholm University, furthering my passion, education, and research on the social behavior of dogs and wolves. For seven years, I raised and lived with European and North American wolves and a various dog breeds, including Alaskan Huskies. From this moment on my best friend Lennon, my first Alaskan Husky, accompanied me on this adventure, teaching me valuable lessons about canine behavior and life.
Another unexpected turn led me to the remote wilderness of northern Sweden, where I have lived and worked with sled dogs for several years. I fell in love with Swedish culture and nature, eventually moving to Kiruna to work with sled dogs. Their outstanding performance and beautiful souls above the Arctic Circle captured my heart.
Today, I continue to pursue my passion for nature and animals by working on my Master’s in Conservation and Wildlife Management at SLU Umeå and sharing my love for dogs in various ways through “Happy Paws”.
